"It is the policy of Babe Ruth League, Inc. to assure the safety of all participants. Accordingly, Babe Ruth League, Inc. reserves the right to ban any equipment, including bats, at any time, including during the season, based upon a change of existing policy and/or upon new information made available to Babe Ruth League, Inc."
Note: Solid one piece wood bats are permitted for use in all divisions and must conform to Rule 1.10. No laminated or experimental bats shall be used in a game.
Tampering or altering bats may violate certain federal and state laws and voids the USA Baseball certification, as well as all manufacturer warranties. Rolling is considered tampering and would void the bat’s certification and make it illegal for play.

Springfield Babe Ruth League follows the lightning and severe weather policy established by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
1.Staff and umpires will monitor local weather conditions before and during games.
2. When thunder is heard or lightning is seen, or information is received indicating lightning strikes within 10 miles of the playing field, play will be suspended and players will be sent to shelter in their vehicles. Play will be suspended for a minimum of 30 minutes. Any subsequent thunder or lightning resets the 30-minute wait period.
3. Any observation of thunder or lightning will take precedence over information from a mobile app.

Parents of players in Springfield Babe Ruth,
SBRL is a quality program run by volunteers. Without you, the league will not run. The cost of providing Babe Ruth baseball to each player, is much more than the registration fee. Whether you have a little time or a lot, you can help. We are in need of volunteers to help at several positions to make it possible for your children to play baseball. Please offer your help at registration or call (703) 231-5349.

Any concussion is serious whether mild or severe. They can also be caused by a blow to the body that causes the head to move rapidly back and forth and causes the brain to strike the surrounding skull.
