SBRL Spring 2020 season cancelled
The primary concern of the Springfield Babe Ruth League (SBRL) is to provide a healthy and safe environment for all of our players, coaches, and families. In the current environment, we must all take the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic seriously. We urge all of our families to adhere to the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Virginia Department of Health, and Fairfax County.
After careful consideration of the safety and well-being of all participants, the SBRL Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the entirety of the Spring 2020 baseball season. This applies to both the National (13-15 year old) and Senior (16-18 year old) levels.
We are providing all registered SBRL players and families the following choices regarding fees already paid for the Spring 2020 season.
Please indicate your preference by filling out our online Spring Registration Fee Choice form by May 1, 2020. After that date, all remaining registration fees will be applied to credit for a future season.
For any correspondence regarding Credits or Refunds, please include "CREDIT" or "REFUND" along with the player name in the subject line. Processing a large number of these requests is unprecedented for SBRL and will require significant effort on the part of our volunteers. Please bear with us as we process your requests.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all again as soon as conditions allow,
Bill Amatucci (President)
Karen Markey (Vice President of Operations)
Scott Wise (Vice President of Administration)

Parents of players in Springfield Babe Ruth,
SBRL is a quality program run by volunteers. Without you, the league will not run. The cost of providing Babe Ruth baseball to each player, is much more than the registration fee. Whether you have a little time or a lot, you can help. We are in need of volunteers to help at several positions to make it possible for your children to play baseball. Please offer your help at registration or call (703) 231-5349.
